Role; Manager/Senior manager – Manufacturing
Reporting to; Head Operations
Manufacturing operations:
- Planning, scheduling and ensuring smooth plant operations, with budgetary guidelines, and as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Ensuring maintenance of proper working conditions, housekeeping, discipline and safety at the workstation.
- Developing and implementing plans & schedules for maintenance operations & annual turnarounds with focus on optimum utilization of manpower and material.
- Monitoring and improving OEE in the plant.
- Conceptualizing & implementing projects, annual improvement plans for process reengineering, technology absorption projects for expansion and new products.
Process Enhancement & Cost Saving Initiatives:
- Ascertaining areas of improvement and recommending process modifications and equipment calibrations to enhance operational inefficiencies of the systems.
- Identifying the areas for cycle time reduction by incorporating modifications in the machine cycle.
- Implementing energy conservation measures through monitoring consumption pattern and accordingly controlling utilities consumption demands.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Developing processes and maintaining them in line with ISO 9001, TQM and TPM guidelines.
- Participating in quality management system audits and maintaining relevant documents for future reference.
- Enforcing strict adherence to safety guidelines for moving towards incident-free environment.
Specialization in: Implementation of Kanban, Pull System, Slotting & War Room Concepts, Heijunka and SMED; Lean Manufacturing: Implementation and concepts; Problem Analysis through Q.C tools.
KPI’s of Manufacturing and inventory management
- Sustaining of “Zero” Harm work place, with compliance to OHSAS 18001 and ISO14001 standards
- Customer complaint
- Uptime of all Equipment
- FPYR of internal process
- OTD
- OEE
- Interaction at Global level for implementing the best practices across the globe
- Throughput time reduction of in house process
- Effective implementation of Weir Best practice score cards
- Stock accuracy
Qualification
Required:B.E (Mechanical) with min10 years of Experience in medium engineering industry
Kannada speaking
Skill Sets Required
Key Skills required, Knowledge
- Work force handling of ~ 100 persons
- Minimum 10 years of manufacturing experience, 2 years’ experience in a Managerial role.
- Sound understanding machining/Assembly processes and techniques in a machine shop/Assembly environment
- Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles with demonstrated skills in initiating corrective and preventative action plans.
Application of 7 QC tools
- JIT for materials
- Problem solving skills – PDCA, DMAIC etc.
- Lean concepts
Target Industry;
Medium engineering, handling machining and assembly with fabricated components, added advantage if handled processing of rubber
