Manager – Sales – Chennai

SCOPE:

  • In charge of the Overall Local Sales activity  for the Respective Branch and spear head Respective trade lane development from a National Perspective.
  • Responsible to lead the Sales team to attain the Company Objectives.
  • To set Parameters with Performance levels for individual team members and to monitor them to attain the set standards.
  • Responsible for overall Sales administration.
  • Create and nurture team spirit within the Sales team and with other team members of the Company
  • Drive the Sales team to create a Vibrant Brand Image of the Company and manifest the Brand Values with its Customers and other stakeholders in the day to day interaction with them.
  • Achieve set targets and objectives for assigned trade lane.
  • Any other task assigned by the Management.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Sales Management:

  • To set KPI’S for the Sales team in accordance with the Company objectives with a holistic approach with measurable parameters.
  • To guide individual team members towards achieving the set KPI’S and monitor the same.
  • To guide and monitor the sales team updates in the Sales force system
  • To interact with Overseas offices  and update them of local market situation in terms of Competition, Rate levels, Service requirements of customers, Carrier service levels at Location and any other new developments which affects bus
  • To drive the development of target trade lanes in the branch.

Business Development:

  • To generate business for the Company in RESPECTIVE and also generate business from Respective trade lane from a National perspective.
  • To facilitate team members to generate business by making Joint Sales calls with them.
  • To work towards achieving set Sales KPI’s of the Branch.
  • To jointly work with the team in Trade lane development. To perform regular market surveys and gauge the market
  • pulse and keep abreast with the moves of the Competition. To collect regular feedback from Customers to gauge Customer delight and effect improvement wherever necessary.
  • To conduct Sales meetings and regular reviews to motivate and direct the sales team towards achieving individual and team objectives.

People Management:

  • Budget the manpower requirement, recruit staff members, plan and organise the staff needs in conjunction with the Regional Manager/National Sales & Logistics Manager.
  • To set individual KPI’S for team members and regularly monitor the same.
  • To Conduct Performance appraisals and identify and suggest scope of improvement.
  • To empower employees with knowledge and skills by identifying the training needs and providing the same. To conduct team gatherings for fostering team-work.
  • To provide forum to team members for open dialogue and gather views and suggestions for improvement.
  • To foster inter personal relationship of team members and manage problem areas

SKILL SETS & QUALIFICATIONS

Key capabilities:

  • Market knowledge of Logistics industry.
  • Strong relationship with Customers in the Respective region. Should have team building and leadership qualities.
  • Should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills Should be a motivator and trouble shooter.
  • Should be Computer Savvy.

Expected years of experience:

  • 5-7 years of Experience in the Logistics Industry with 2-3 years of Managerial experience.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Should be a Graduate and Preferably with a Master’s Degree in Logistics and Marketing
